(PART 1)

Colours are one in every of the simplest things in the world. Will we have a tendency to see the globe while not colours? Completely not, the world’s stunning and engaging things are available in colours. They, sure enough, play a crucial role in our lives. However, will we provide a thought to the colours? According to the researchers, colours have psychology attached behind it. Our every decision and perception is developed and evolved based on what we see, and colours are a constant part of our vision.

Colour psychology is a determinant of human behaviour and it influences our choices and motivates behaviour. Every colour has a specific meaning and it subconsciously creates its impression on us. It has the power of influencing our emotions and decisions as soon as we see it. When it comes to buying any product or watching any advertisements, billboard ads, any random banners in our surrounding. What attracts us the most? Colours. We consciously or subconsciously lay our eyes on colours and it creates an impact on our behaviour and perspectives.

Yes, It’s the “colour trap”. Companies consider the concept of colour psychology because they are very well aware of this trap and it’s an aid to attract customers. As per surveys conducted to understand colour psychology around 62–90% of customers’ buying decisions is influenced based on the colour themes chosen by companies.

To attract customers in this “colour trap” tons of money is invested by companies in logo making and packaging of the products. Now let us have a look at how our emotions and decisions are trapped by looking at some of the colours.

THE RED COLOR PSYCHOLOGY

The colour red indicates a sense of boldness and excitement. Companies making use of RED THEME usually have an intention to attract youths. Usually, people tend to associate red with negative, danger-bearing emotions and to avoid such kind of reflection on customers, companies use red with a blend of some other colours in their logos and products. As shown in the image above, colours like yellow, white are associated with red to develop a positive impression of the brand. While purchasing products or looking at brands with the red colour we experience emotions excitement, energy, passion, love, power and it evokes a playful nature among us.

THE YELLOW COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY

Companies using YELLOW THEME want to show traits like optimism, clarity and develop a sense of warmth. Yellow is considered the most attractive colour among all. It is the lightest colour in the spectrum. When we see this colour we often experience emotions of cheerfulness, fun, confidence, logical, creative, energetic and it’s an attention-grabbing moment which moulds our decision in buying products from shown brands in the above image.

THE ORANGE COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY

When it comes to ORANGE THEME there is not much difference in emotions one experiences when looking at yellow and red as the orange is a combination of two. Companies making use of orange colour depict a friendly nature and want their customers to experience a sense of cheerfulness and confidence. When we look at this colour our mind feels energetic, warmth. We experience emotions like happiness, enthusiasm, spirituality, and it refreshes us in every aspect.

THE BLACK COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY

As per the research conducted on colour black psychology, it says that majorly we have a predominant way of perceiving and associating black colour with negative things but that is not the perception of companies making use of this colour. BLACK THEME is used by companies to show traits of sophistication and elegance. When we look at these brands and black colour we experience emotions of attraction, royal, and power.

THE BROWN COLOUR PSYCHOLOGY

The brown colour is one of the unique colours used by brands it shows the traits of reliability and compassion. Companies making use of BROWN THEME tries to evoke emotions of security, strength, resilience, natural, and dependability in us. It is also observed that brands having an association with natural elements or are associated with products like coffee and chocolate tend to use colour brown mainly.

After staring at a number of the aspects of colours currently, we are attentive to how our emotions and buying decisions are influenced simply by the colours. Colours have impactful that means connected in our lives. One should have an observational vision towards their behaviours and emotions when we see colours.
